The Challenge

Northwind had a dated marketing site that didn't reflect the quality of their logistics platform. The messaging was unclear, the design felt generic, and the funnel leaked at every step. Demo bookings were flat despite increasing ad spend. They needed a complete rebuild — not just a facelift, but a rethink of how the site communicates value and converts visitors into qualified leads.

The Approach

I started with positioning — rewriting the core messaging from the user's perspective rather than features. Then I designed and built directly in Webflow: five pages, CMS-driven blog, custom animations, and a conversion-focused flow from hero to demo booking. Every section was built with intent: clear value prop above the fold, social proof in the right places, and a CTA structure that guides without pushing.

The Process

Here's exactly what the five days looked like — from the first call to the final deploy.

Day 1

Discovery & positioning

Two-hour deep dive into the product, competitors, and target audience. We mapped out the conversion funnel: who lands on the site, what they need to see, and what action they should take. Rewrote the core messaging from feature-first to outcome-first — 'Move freight faster' instead of 'Advanced logistics management platform.'

Day 2

Information architecture & wireframes

Defined the sitemap: Homepage, Features, Pricing, About, Blog. Each page got a purpose statement and a primary CTA. Built low-fidelity wireframes directly in Webflow — no design tool handoff. Established the visual hierarchy: what gets the most attention, what supports it, and what can wait below the fold.

Day 3

Visual design & component system

Applied the design system: type scale, color palette, spacing tokens, and reusable components. Built the homepage section by section — hero, feature blocks, social proof, CTA. Every element was designed with conversion intent: testimonials near decision points, trust badges above the fold, clear pricing with no hidden friction.

Day 4

CMS, interactions & inner pages

Set up the CMS for blog posts, team members, and a changelog. Built out the remaining pages: Features with comparison tables, Pricing with a FAQ accordion, About with team bios. Added micro-interactions — smooth scroll, hover states, page transitions — enough to feel polished without slowing load time.

Day 5

Testing, optimization & launch

Tested every breakpoint on real devices — iPhone, iPad, laptop, ultrawide. Fixed edge cases: text wrapping, image cropping, touch targets. Ran a Lighthouse audit and optimized images, lazy loading, and font loading. Set up analytics, connected the contact form, and hit publish. The whole team reviewed and approved within two hours.

Results

3x more demo bookings

Within 90 days, qualified demo requests tripled compared to the previous quarter.

5-day turnaround

From brief to live site in under a week — no Figma handoff, no waiting.

40% lower bounce rate

Clearer messaging and better structure kept visitors engaged longer.

What I'd do differently

No project is perfect. If I had more time, here's what I would have done differently:

More time on mobile polish

The responsive breakpoints work, but some sections could benefit from mobile-specific layouts rather than just reflowing the desktop version.

A/B testing from day one

I would have set up headline and CTA variants immediately rather than waiting for the first month of data to start optimizing.

Video testimonials

Text quotes are fine, but a 30-second video from the CEO would have added much more social proof above the fold.

"Vlad completely transformed how we present ourselves online. The new site doesn't just look better — it actually converts. Three months in, and our demo pipeline has never been healthier."
